DESCRIPTION:The Mermaid Beach AEME Surf Lifesaving Club was first establish
 ed in 1946 by members of the AEME Bulimba Watercraft Workshops as the AEME
  Surf Lifesaving Club.&nbsp\;In 1946 when the beach was officially gazette
 d as Mermaid Beach\, the club retained the AEME name in honour of our foun
 ders.\nThe AEME Mermaid Beach Surf Lifesaving Club will be celebrating the
 ir 75th Anniversary with a Gala Dinner at the Gold Coast Convention Centre
  on Saturday the 15th of May and have invited an RAQ member. Due to COVID 
 restrictions this is a ticketed event limited to 200 people. The Chairman 
 will select a suitable RAQ representative to attend.\nIf you would like to
