Alina grew up with the sound of engines and the smell of motor oil, spending countless hours around classic cars with her dad. A self-confessed “revhead”, she never imagined her passion for cars would one day take her to the heart of Formula One engineering.
Last year she spent a six-week work placement with motorsport powerhouse McLaren Racing in England. After a week of training in McLaren’s design software, she joined the Design and Engineering Group, working alongside a senior engineer on projects that push the limits of performance, often measured in milliseconds.
Now back in Australia completing her thesis on improving the performance of mid-90s Porsche engines at a Sydney racing workshop.
Her Mechanical Engineering Degree completed, she is posted to 7 CSSB. We look forward to her insights and expect to see some revved-up Bushmasters and Hawkeis hitting the training area soon.
